April 27, 2012Kubota Announces North American Manufacturing ExpansionKubota Corporation has announced that a new manufacturing facility will be built on the property of the local subsidiary, Kubota Metal Corporation (KMF), to establish business to manufacture TXAX brand friction material for use in the production of automotive brake pads. Construction will start in June 2012 with completion by December and planned full production of the initial phase by April 2013. A planned future expansion will double the capacity of the facility. This plant will supply current North American markets and also provide capacity for global growth. June 8, 2006Kubota Metal Environmental Management System Awarded ISO 14001 AccreditationKubota Metal Corporation is pleased to announce that its environmental management system has been awarded the prestigious ISO 14001 accreditation in recognition of its consideration for the environment throughout its business activities. The ISO 14001 certification complements the ISO 9001 certification that Kubota has had for many years, which attests to the consistent standard of quality to which Kubota is committed. The ISO 14001 certificate is awarded to companies who establish, implement and maintain documented environmental objectives and targets, including a clear environmental policy, as well as identifying and controlling environmental aspects of its activities, products and services. ISO 14001 provides the methodology for companies to develop an environmental management system (EMS) to ensure that all environmental programs and procedures attain the highest standards. The certification also calls for a program of continuous improvement. The final certification auditing process was carried out by the internationally known SGS International Certification Services Canada Inc. Kubota believes that ISO 14001 will make an ongoing significant contribution to the company's success in its environmental behaviour. Kubota Metal Corporation, a subsidiary of Kubota Corporation of Osaka Japan, operates an alloy steel foundry and fabrication facility in Orillia, Ontario, Canada. Making centrifugal and sand castings for high temperature corrosion and wear applications, Kubota supplies over 4000 tonnes of castings and fabrications annually to the petrochemical, steel, mining industries on a global basis.
